KINGSTON, Jamaica - The seventh race on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, features the Royal Lancaster Trophy for three-year-olds who have not won two races, covering a distance of six furlongs.

Seven horses are entered, and The Quick Galloper shares insights on the potential outcome below.

1 - ADIRA is a chestnut filly (April 2) by Hedge Fund out of Thisgirlisonfire, trained by Carlton Cunningham with Dane Dawkins riding. This filly has shown notable improvement in her recent outings at this level, finishing second in the ‘glass’ at five and a half furlongs to Sippin At Sunshine. Adira possesses speed, but the additional distance could pose a challenge, as several other speedy contenders are present.

2 - HAPPY FORCE is a bay colt (May 14) by Bern Identity out of Herroyalhighness, trained by Philip Feanny with Delroy Beharie aboard. Recently entering this classification, he requires more time to develop.

3 - SPINAL TAPIT is a bay filly (April 12) by Tiznow out of Illapa, trained by Phillip Lee with Omar Walker in the saddle. She has yet to distinguish herself in five starts thus far.

4 - SMART TRICK is a bay colt (February 1) by Casual Trick out of Crafty Lady, trained by Anthony Nunes with Tevin Foster riding. He has adjusted well to this level, achieving two close second-place finishes in his last two races. A front runner, the six-furlong distance suits Smart Trick perfectly, though he needs careful handling.

5 - J SPIETH is a grey colt (March 26) by Spieth out of Alice and Trixie, trained by Patrick Lynch with Raddesh Roman in the saddle. His has raced over longer distances in his last two races, and has now returned to sprinting, which is better for his chances of winning. This late-season race offers a chance for him to redeem himself.

6 - FIRST OFFENSE is a bay colt (February 21) by Conquest Cherimash out of Official Report, trained by Steven Todd with Javaneil Patterson aboard. He is beginning to find his stride at this non-two level and, with some time, is likely to improve.

7 - LIL’ MAGGIE is a bay filly (May 5) by Legal Process out of Maggie’s Way, trained by Donovan Thompson with Oneil Mullings riding. She is still gaining experience in the non-two ranks.
