After finishing second behind You’re My Sweetie on December 26, 2025, over six furlongs (1,200m), Last Possession returned on Saturday, January 17, 2026, to secure her first win. The Anthony Dixon-trained filly contested a Maiden Condition Race for native-bred four-year-old and older fillies at five and a half furlongs (1,100m).

Breaking alertly, Last Possession was guided to the lead by jockey Raddesh Roman. She set the early fractions in 25.0 seconds for the quarter-mile and 49.4 for the half-mile, with Atila (Samantha Fletcher), Shan Shan (Tevin Foster), and Life is Light (Chris Mamdeen) following in order.

At the half-mile turn, Roman asked his mount to quicken. Last Possession responded immediately, stretching her advantage and leaving the chasing trio behind. She passed the five-furlong marker in 1:02.4 and completed the distance in 1:09.4, finishing eight lengths clear. Shan Shan held second, while Atila stayed on for third.
