KINGSTON, Jamaica – Racing for the third time under the care of trainer Wayne DaCosta, Awesome Aviator ridden by apprentice Raddesh Roman was able to win the fifth race on today’s Friday card at Caymanas Park just moments ago.
Kept off the pace by Roman as Si Mi Now (Samantha Fletcher) shot to the lead in the Restricted Allowance 11 three-year-olds – non winners of two event run over 8 ½ furlongs Awesome Aviator ran quite related in third.
The young apprentice then made a telling move leaving the three-furlong point by surging to the front.
Entering the straight Awesome Aviator had the advantage but had to be pushed out to hold the late surge of both Salah and Blood Fire who finished second and third respectively.
The winning time recorded by Awesome Aviator was 1:49.0 winning at odds of 3-1.
