KINGSTON, Jamaica – Highlighted by Quickgallop.com early in this week for her looks and exercise gallops leading to today’s 11th race, Eye Candy proceeded to outsprint rivals to win the Optional Claiming event ($750,000 - $700,000) run over six furlongs.

Apprentice Anthony Allen shot out of the gates on Eye Candy when they opened and in a gate to wire affair never looked like losing on the Dennis Lee trained five-year-old chestnut mare.

This was the first time in his career that Allen was riding a race day double. Earlier on the day, he won on Genuine Friend for trainer Donovan Plummer.

Winning at odds of 5-2, Eye Candy defeated 46-1 chance Baltusrol (Jawara Steadman) with King Tavari (Shane Ellis - 8-1) finishing third.

The exacta with Eye Candy on top of Baltusrol paid $16,243.
