KINGSTON, Jamaica –
DATE – Saturday, January 4
HORSE – Eye Candy
DISTANCE – 6 furlongs
Time – 1:16.3
COMMENT - Eye Candy (Forest Danger – Regency) looked particularly well during her exercise spin on a track which is seemingly returning to normal times after being fast for the last month or two. The Dennis Lee trained Eye Candy galloped by herself and appeared on the track looking as if she is ready for a winning effort. Watch closely.
DATE – Saturday, January 4
Horse – Sir Alton
Distance – 5 ½ and 5 furlongs
TIME – 5 ½ - 1:07.2: 5 - 1:01.2
COMMENT – This three-year-old foreigner has one win from one start. Sir Alton working by himself was fluent in his gallop without being pushed out by rider Omar Walker. Races in non-winners of three next and must be followed.
DATE – Saturday, January 4
HORSE – Three-year-old bay filly
By Adore The Gold – Lipstick Lily
DISTANCE – Four furlongs
TIME – 48.1
COMMENT – This unraced bay filly trained by Wayne DaCosta has been catching the eyes of clockers as she prepares for her debut run. Galloped a comfortable 48.1 for four furlongs with jockey Omar Walker never asking a question. A good looker who may become influential in the filly’s Classics later this year. Note this is the second registered foal by Lipstick Lily. The first was a chestnut filly by Soul Warrior.
DATE – Sunday, January 5
HORSE – Three-year-old chestnut colt
By Bellamy Road – Sultry Talk
Bred in utero
DISTANCE – 5 ½ furlongs
TIME – 1:07.4
COMMENT – One of the many three-year-olds around who have not faced the starter as yet. This chestnut colt trained by Ian Parsard galloped with old and tough campaigner Superluminal over 5 ½ furlongs. The well-grown colt got the better of his St Leger winning stablemate with ease. Superluminal was timed for the distance covered in 1:08.3.
