KINGSTON, Jamaica – The first race of 10 on the Saturday card went as predicted as the howling 1-5 favourite, Purple Wayne duly obliged.
Racing in a Maiden Special Weight for three-year-olds run over 7 furlongs as the 1-5 on favourite, jockey Anthony Thomas kept Purple Wayne off the pace set by Cairo (Raddesh Roman – 2/1).
Bearing down to the stretch run, Purple Wayne made his move and moved clear of all rivals to win in a time of 1:28.1.
Second went to Cairo and third was Private Quest.
Purple Wayne is trained by Robert Pearson.
