KINGSTON, Jamaica - The seventh race on Saturday, March 25, 2024, is a three-year-old maiden call in which eight horses have been nominated to compete.

The distance of this event is 6 ½ furlongs, with The Quick Galloper’s assessment provided below.

- THE SOUL WARRIOR is a roan colt (March 21) by Storm Craft out of Amanda Panda, trained by Phillip Lee with Carlos Blake riding. Did well when finishing second, 5 ¼ lengths adrift of Bold Move on May 11. The Soul Warrior has been fairly consistent in his 10 career starts; has to be considered for a spot on the board, and therefore the exotics.

- ZULU WARRIOR is a chestnut colt (April 27) by Soul Warrior out of Lookatmenow, trained by Howard Bailey with Omar Walker aboard. Note that Zulu Warrior races with first-time Lasix. Finished fourth on debut (May 11), with The Soul Warrior in front. Zulu Warrior experience continues.

- HICKORY SLIM is a chestnut colt (April 12) by Sensational Slam out of Mete-Orite, trained by Ian Parsard with Reyan Lewis in the saddle. Did much better on last (May 11), ending third behind Smart Trick and Rock-Ola. With that effort under his girth, the well-bred Hickory Slim is now provided with a good opportunity, given the distance, of securing his first win.

- BALLISTIC MISSILE is a bay colt (April 11) by Patton Proud out of Storm Girl, trained by Joseph Thomas with Paul Francis holding the reins. Note that Ballistic Missile races with first-time Lasix. Not expected to fire on Saturday.

- SHELLY THE ROCKET is a chestnut filly (February 3) by Tapilu out of My Queen, trained by Renex Burrell with Ramon Nepare as the nominated jockey. Still learning the trade.

- PRINCESS FIANIE is a bay filly (January 15) by Soul Warrior out of Ship Sham, trained by Rudolph Hardial with Tevin Foster riding. Was denied the benefit of her first win in the stewards’ room. That run was on May 18 at seven furlongs, making the 6 ½ furlongs of this race, perfect.

- MACK AND ROME is a bay colt (February 5) by Bold Conquest out of Gold Miner, trained by Saqlain Roman with Robert Halledeen aboard. Although heavily backed on last (May 11) finishing fourth, 8 ¼ lengths behind the winner Smart Trick. Mack And Rome having already beaten Supremasi over the same distance of this race is good for a top-four finish.

- SUPREMASI is a bay colt (May 12) by Savoy Stomp out of Beware Baby, trained by Anthony Nunes with Raddesh Roman in the saddle. Note, Supremasi races with the blinkers on. This well-bred colt made his debut on April 20 and was underwhelming. Supremasi was then (May 11) nominated to race but was declared a late non-starter.  Supremasi is held in high esteem by his connections as well as morning observers, and will again be heavily backed on the tote board. Time will tell.
