The second race is a three-year-old maiden race this Saturday, November 30, 2024. It features seven horses vying for success over 7 ½ furlongs.
The Quick Galloper provides an insightful look at the contenders.
1 - QUEEN VAUNA
A bay filly (April 8) by Savoy Stomp out of Trinket, Queen Vauna is trained by O’Neil Markland and will be ridden by Tevin Foster. After showing noticeable improvement in her last three races, Queen Vauna finished third in her most recent outing at a mile, losing momentum in the final furlong. The reduction to 7 ½ furlongs could be just what she needs to capitalize on her recent form.
2 - BOLD SHADOW
This bay colt (March 25), sired by Sunshine N Shadow out of Charming Beauty, will have Shane Richardson in the saddle. Bold Shadow is racing with blinkers for the first time, which may sharpen his focus. After being declared a late non-starter on September 29, he brings an outsider’s chance to the table in this competitive field.
3 - MONSTER VIGOROUS
A bay filly (February 4), Monster Vigorous is a progeny of Soul Warrior and Glorious Cause, trained by Rowan Mathie and ridden by Rudolph Paige. Making her first appearance with Lasix, she has shown fluctuating form in previous outings, leaving her status as a reliable contender uncertain.
4 - PRINCESS CATALEYA
Trained by Patrick Lynch and partnered with Raddesh Roman, this bay filly (February 2) by Casual Trick out of Classical Princess comes in with notable momentum, having finished second in her last two efforts. Racing with figure eight equipment, Princess Cataleya is poised to convert her consistent performances into victory, despite this being her first attempt at a distance longer than 6 ½ furlongs.
5 - HAVAJOY
This chestnut filly (April 21) by Legal Process out of Lady Tarkari is trained by Donovan Thompson, with Oneil Mullings aboard. Havajoy may find the demanding 7 ½ furlong trip challenging, likely leading early but struggling to maintain her pace as the race unfolds.
6 - TOWN STAR
A bay colt (April 20) by Tapilu out of Starofthetown, Town Star, trained by Donovan Plummer and ridden by Paul Francis, has entered the race with weak form credentials. He appears to be an outsider and can be safely sidelined in the quest for victory.
7 - OH MY GOSH
This bay colt (April 5), sired by Northern Giant out of Mom’s Secret, is trained by Ryan Darby and will be ridden by Calvin Bailey. Raced with a visor for added focus, Oh My Gosh has a long road ahead and is currently considered a distant contender.
