Prince Charles wins again over 6 ½ furlongs, as Anthony Nunes- Reyan Lewis gets weekend racing underway

KINGSTON, Jamaica – It was an easy start for punters as the two-day (Saturday, Jan 25 and Sunday, Jan 26) festival of racing got going at Caymanas Park moments ago.

It was the now established combination of trainer Anthony Nunes and apprentice Reyan Leiws getting the job done with the ever improving Prince Charles a four-year-old chestnut gelding by Mine Over Matter – She’s Spectacular.

Reyan Lewis kept Prince Charles comfortably off the pace set by Anaso (Robert Halledeen) and Harry’s Train (Calvin Bailey).

Lurking all the way through, Prince Charles starting his victory bid with three furlongs to go in the Restricted Overnight contest run over 6 ½ furlongs, leaving the three-furlong point.

In the straight, Prince Charles never had a problem pulling away to win by 1 ¾ lengths at odds of 1-5.

Second was Wartime (Raddesh Roman – 14-1) with Miss Formality (Oneil Mullings – 31-1) in the third spot.

Horse number two – Lici’s Pepsi was a late non-starter.

The winning time was 1:19.1.
