KINGSTON, Jamaica – Press Conference, owned, bred, and trained by Carl Anderson with Paul Francis in the saddle finished with gusto to win the Caymanas Saturday sixth at odds of 7-1.
The Caymanas Saturday sixth was a three-year-old (non-winners of two races) call at 6 ½ furlongs.
The pace was set by Baton Rogue (Jerome Innis), with a bunch of horses behind including Press Conference waiting on the leader to fold.
It was still Baton Rouge in front when they entered the straight but with just about a furlong to go, Baton Rogue started to shorten as Francis brought Press Conference forward.
In a jiffy Press Conference took over going on to win by 1 ½ lengths. Baton Rogue was second and Buff Bay (Chris Mamdeen) third.
