KINGSTON, Jamaica – With Dane Nelson not riding on today’s (December 28) card at Caymanas Park, champion jockey Anthony Thomas got a chance ride on the Oneil Markland trained Storm in the seventh event and made winning use of the opportunity.

Racing in a $750,000 - $700,000 claiming race, Storm went out in front as soon as the starter let them go for the 7 ½ furlong trip.

At various stages during the race, Storm was challenged but was finally able to shrug off rivals entering the straight. Thomas then kept his chance ride going well and eventually won by 1 ½ lengths defeating 3-5 favourite, Coralando (Phillip Parchment) with Reigning King (Chris Mamdeen – third).
