Double for trainer Jason DaCosta

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Pricey bay filly Outbidder by Savoy Stomp out of Rumble raised expectations as horses continued their preparation for the various Classic races later in the year with an exciting win to close the 10-race Sunday (January 16) card at Caymanas Park.

Racing in a three-year-old Maiden Special Weight contest for fillies only going 6 furlongs, Outbidder ridden by Jerome Innis and trained by Jason DaCosta easily defeated Rupunzel (Dane Nelson) by 6 ¼ lengths with Dujour (Oshane Nugent) finishing third. This was the second start by Outbidder, while Rupunzel was finishing second for the sixth occasion from eight career starts.

The time clocked by Outbidder was 1:13.3 which is three-fifths of a second slower than the impressive Atomica who won yesterday.

When the starter let them go, Innis made his intentions very clear as he pushed Outbidder straight to the front. Outbidder was challenged for the first two furlongs by Dujour with Nelson getting closer on Rupunzel.

Making the turn for home, Rupunzel drew alongside Outbidder and then the class of the latter got into the groove as she got going, and in so doing moved away to open her winning account.

Outbidder was the second winner on the day for DaCosta, who had earlier in the day won with She's My Destiny.
