KINGSTON, Jamaica - Original Train got the Caymanas Thursday (December 23) 9-race card off to a good start for punters as the 9-5 favourite.
It was Schlesinger (Michael Bryan) who set off in front in the event for five-year-old and upwards claimers ($180,000 - $150,000) at four furlongs.
Schlesinger carried the pack onto the main and then started to shorten with Freedom For Eds (Oshane Nugent) taking over on the outside, but as soon as he did so, Original Train trained by Michael Thomas got into action in mid-track, and quickly swept by to win by 1 ½ lengths.
Freedom For Eds was second and Schlesinger third.
