KINGSTON, Jamaica – Oneofakind under a swashbuckling ride by Robert Halledeen got the job done on the Anthony Nunes trainee to conclude the 11 races on the Caymanas Saturday card of December 18.
Racing at the Overnight Allowance level going a mile, Oneofakind after a superb start at the beginning of this season, and following some tame efforts afterwards, found his best with a brave and never say die run to defeat Billy Whizz (Matthew Bennett) by a neck following a momentous stretch duel.
When Mr Starter pressed the go button, Billy Whizz reared but was quickly settled and as expected went to the lead, which he held until the winning post.
Halledeen waited patiently before moving Oneofakind to challenge in the final part of the bend just before entering the straight.
In a ding-dong battle, Halledeen employed all his strength and brashness on Oneofakind getting the win in the glass.
Billy Whizz was second and Excessive Force (Linton Steadman) third.
This was the second winner on the day for Nunes.
