KINGSTON, Jamaica - Nine-year-old bay gelding Secret Traveller won his second race from four starts this season in a three-year-old and upwards Claiming ($1 million-$800,000) spread over 6½ furlongs (1,300m).

It wasn’t the smoothest of starts for Secret Traveller as the Robert Ffrench trainee sat in fourth place down the backstretch behind Oldkingcole (Raddesh Roman), Three Times Lucky (Samantha Fletcher), and Iannai Links (Bebeto Harvey).

Secret Traveller increased his tempo approaching the half-mile turn as Iannai Links slipped through to take up the runner ahead of Stranger Danger (Dane Dawkins). Jockey Roger Hewitt then let loose the notch a bit aboard Secret Traveller, who quickly attacked Stranger Danger on the front end approaching the distance.

With the momentum going his way Secret Traveller hit the front running at the top of the lane and drew clear from rivals in deep stretch to win going away by 2¾ lengths ahead of Sir John (Christopher Mamdeen) and Oldkingcole. The final time for the race was 1:22.3 with splits if 23.3 x 48.3 x 1:14.4.
