KINGSTON, Jamaica – Trainer Anthony Nunes cut the near $1 million held by Wayne DaCosta in the trainers’ championship when Dane Nelson guided home Giaconda in the fifth race on the Diamond Mile Race Day Card at Caymanas Park a short while ago.
Giaconda won at odds of 8-5, with Cerasini (4-5) second and Key Witness (29-1) third.
It was the second winner on the day for Nelson who rode Another Vigorous to victory in the fourth event.
The winning time for 7 ½ furlongs was 1:34.3.
