KINGSTON, Jamaica – The final race of the popular Reggae-6 wager proved to be the difficult one after horse number 11 at 11-1, Itsabeautifulday obliged in what was also the Caymanas Saturday sixth.
A total of $6.4 million was wagered in the Reggae-6 with 37 winners emerging for a payout of $84,927 each.
Itsabeautifulday trained by Phillip Lee and ridden by Robert Halledeen stayed closed to the inside rails in this five-year-old and upwards non-winners of two contest at five furlongs straight.
With two furlongs left to go, Miss Cookie (Dick Cardenas) surged in front and looked like the winning was a mere formality by Halledeen got rolling on Itsabeautifulday who ate up the ground in the final furlong winning by two lengths.
Miss Cookie was second and Adwa third.
