KINGSTON, Jamaica - After many twists, turns and fierce competition, the 2024 jockeys’ championship involving Tevin Foster and Raddesh Roman, another intriguing mix has been added to the elixir.
At the end of last weekend’s (October 5-6) up and downs, when both Foster and Roman created local racing history by becoming the first two riders to reach the landmark of 100 winners on the same race day during the same season, it was Foster who held the advantage, albeit a slim one.
Foster was one winner ahead of Roman as this captivating competitive rivalry continued unabated.
The new development came from the Racing Office. They have confirmed that following the decision of the Racing Commission to uphold the appeal of disqualification by the connections of Desert of Malibu, an additional win has been placed in the Roman column, the jockey on board when Desert of Malibu was disqualified.
The latest statistics (see below) issued online by the Racing Office show both Foster and Roman on 104 wins each.
More interesting times are surely ahead.
