NOTICE TO ALL TRAINERS
This serves to inform that the Stewards and Veterinarians have collaborated to develop a tagging system aimed at identifying horses that meet specific criteria, such as winners, randomly selected horses, or those chosen for spot checks. This system was first introduced during the race meeting of July 27, 2024.
The Horse Identifier will distribute the tags to the grooms in the paddock area. It is essential to emphasize that once the Horse Identifier has informed the Groom/Trainer, strict adherence to the chain of custody protocol is required. This protocol dictates that no unauthorized individuals should have contact with the horse until it has been sampled and cleared by the Veterinarians at the Testing/Sample barn.
The Chain of Custody process accurately tracks the journey of evidence from collection through safeguarding, to analysis, by documenting every individual who handles the evidence, along with the corresponding date and time of collection or transfer. This rigorous protocol serves as a cornerstone in upholding the integrity and ensuring the reliability of the procedures in place.
