Agreement reached for purse increase of $18 million
KINGSTON, Jamaica – There will be racing this weekend at Caymanas Park.
Horses will be nominated today (Tuesday, Jan 25) after an agreement was brokered last night to this morning between the horsemen community and the promoting company Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited (SVREL).
The agreement is for an increase in purse money of $18 million starting on February 1 and ending on June 30.
It is further understood that an additional $500, 000 will be added to purses for the race meet of Saturday (Jan 29) and also for Sunday (Jan 30), to bring the total overall payment to $19 million.
With nominations going ahead, QUICKGALLOP.COM will be carrying the OVERNIGHT programme as per usual this afternoon.

Government needs to allow people interested in importing horse into the country do so free of cost when these horse start earning on the track or breeding farms the owner start paying the government their taxes at whatever rate beneficial to both parties
They have been trying a long while for this to happen.
