KINGSTON, Jamaica – Champion trainer Anthony Nunes all but sealed his third championship title when Generational won the first event on the Monday card of December 27. And to add even more purse to his stock pile, Nunes’ other charge in the event Paraiso finished second.
This one-two- finish Nunes added another $491,350 to his overnight lead of $1,221,555, for an advantage of $1,712,905 with 10 races left in the year.
Generational ridden by Robert Halledeen was winning his second race in two days. Nunes was saddling his eighth winner in the last 21 races run at the Park, while Halledeen was on his fourth over the last two race days.
Third in the event was Blood Fire (Andre Powell).
Generational won a three-year-old and upwards Optional Claiming ($550,000 - $450,000) call at 6 ½ furlongs.
Both Generational and Paraiso were claimed.
