KINGSTON, Jamaica – Nipster as expected made short work of the opposition to win the 2020 version of the Sir Howard Stakes, the fourth race of 10 on the Saturday card currently taking place at Caymanas Park.
The race a three-year-old non-winners of two run over six furlongs saw Rum With Me (Shane Ellis) and King Arthur (Simon Husbands) vying for the early lead. At this stage in the race Nipster (Anthony Thomas) was kept behind the front runners.
When the horses reached the half-mile marker Cash Is King (Dane Nelson) started to move up to the leaders while King Arthur had to be checked after suffering interference from Rum With Me.
Nipster trained by Richard Azan moved sweetly on the outside and took over in the straight and never looked back.
Second went to Money Monster (Shamaree Muir) with Cash Is King third.
The winning time was 1:13.3.
Well fancied runners Adoration and Green Gold Rush were declared late non-starters following an incident in the gates.
