KINGSTON, Jamaica – The top jockey | trainer combination at the Park, Anthony Thomas and Jason DaCosta closed out a natural hattrick of winners when Tradition easily won the Caymanas Saturday sixth – a three-year-old and upwards Optional Claimer ($400,000 - $300,000) going seven furlongs.
Thomas had Tradition with the early leaders, Diligent (Phillip Parchment) and Summer Sun (Javaniel Patterson).
Passing the three furlong marker, Thomas stepped on the gas and Tradition responded by leaving rivals in his wake before being eased down inside the last half-a-furlong.
Subbie (Tevin Foster) ran on to get second with Diligent occupying the third slot.
Thomas and DaCosta won the fourth race with Uncle Frank, the fifth with Super Duper), and the sixth with Tradition to achieve their natural hattrick.
