KINGSTON, Jamaica – While the two-year-old bay colt My Time Now won the Andrew H B Aguilar Memorial Cup run over a mile (ninth race), more attention is being paid on a massive spill which saw four riders hit the deck while the horses were navigating the turn after leaving the four-furlong marker.

It appears that during the race, The Monster (Phillip Parchment) lost his legs and went under causing Shane Ellis on Let Him Fly; Oneil Mullings on Collawill and Christopher Mamdeen on Bacchanalist to hit the racing deck as well.

Word from the track is that all the fallen riders are well with only Parchment receiving treatment at the Caymanas Park clinic. Quickgallop.com has also been informed that The Monster died after falling.

To the race itself, My Time Now ridden by Omar Walker and trained by Wayne DaCosta stayed behind the leaders before taking over the lead with 3 ½ furlongs to go while looking strong in the straight, winning in a time of 1:42.3.

Sen City (Aaron Chatrie – 26-1) was second with first timer XY Soul (Trevor Simpson – 8-1) third.

Of note is the fact that this race was the first time this year that the two-year-olds were travelling longer than seven furlongs.
