KINGSTON, Jamaica – Many of the horses slated to compete on the Mouttet Mile Race Day in the two main races, the Mouttet Mile itself and the Chairman’s Plate.
One of the front runners for the Mouttet Mile Runaway Algo trained by Dale Murphy impressed on Saturday (Nov 26) clocking 1:07.0 for five and a half furlongs.
On the same day, Oneofakind, the charge of champion trainer Anthony Nunes galloped seven furlongs in 1:29.1.
The highly improved filly She’s My Destiny from the shedrow of leading trainer Jason DaCosta completed her preparation on Saturday with a six-furlong gallop timed in 1:13.1.
Two others from the DaCosta barn Lure of Lucy galloped five furlongs in 1:01.4, and Makeupartist did a four-furlong spin in 47.4 seconds.
The pre-race favourite for the Mouttet Mile Atomica was put through a final gallop of six furlongs by her trainer Gary Subratie on Sunday (Nov 27), finishing in a time of 1:14.4.
Blue Vinyl winner of the 2000 Guineas and the Jamaica St Leger galloped four furlongs in a time of 53.2 seconds for trainer Patrick Lynch.
Mahogany, the top-rated horse at present, was out on Sunday morning, galloping an easy five furlongs in a time of 1:03.0.
The two leading lights in the Chairman’s Plate, Brinks and Crimson went through their paces also on Sunday.
Three-year-old Brinks galloped five furlongs in 1:00.2, with Crimson spinning four furlongs in 52.2 seconds.
