KINGSTON, Jamaica – The odds-makers at Quickgallop.com have put forward their odds on the 14 horses officially entered in the 12-furlong Jamaica Derby following the official draw for post-positions earlier today, Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
After going through all the relevant statistics, the odds-makers have listed the Fitzroy Glispie-trained Money Miser as the 9-5 favourite to win the Jamaica Derby. The Derby will be contested on Monday, August 7.
The odds-makers say that trainer Glispie has timed to the progress of Money Miser to the minute, plus Money Miser will enjoy every inch of the 12-furlong distance.
Next in the Derby odds are St Leger (10 furlongs) winner Thalita, and 2000 Guineas victor Mojito at 5-2.
The odds-makers are a bit worried about Mojito, having noticed that he has not galloped in a while.
For the other horses in the line-up, it’s anything goes.
