KINGSTON, Jamaica – The 2000 Guineas was not a race.
Mojito more than justified 1-9 favouritism with a victory for the ages in the one mile 2023 – 2000 Jamaica Guineas.
With regular partner Dane Dawkins holding the reins, Mojito was not the best away, but Dawkins quickly pushed him through on the inside rails, and in a flash, Mojito was already challenging for the lead.
Once Mojito settled on the headlines, it became a question, of how many lengths he would win by? As it turned out, Mojito won by 12 ½ lengths on a canter.
The Richard Azan trainee clocked 1:37.2 for the mile distance with splits of 24.1 x 46.3 x 1:10.3.
