KINGSTON, Jamaica – Mirabilis (Robert Halledeen) after passing the winning post in front in the Caymanas Saturday 8th, was subsequently disqualified by the race day stewards.
After the completion of the race there was a quick announcement of a stewards’ injury followed by a jockey’s objection lodged by Reyan Lewis, who rode Cartel, against the winner.
It did not take the stewards long to make their decision of disqualifying Mirabilis.
The official announcement stated that horse number 10 Mirabilis was disqualified and placed behind fourth by the post Cartel for causing interference and intimidation in the vicinity of the four furlong pole.
This win gave the trainer of Special Counsel, Steven Todd his second winner on the day.
