KINGSTON, Jamaica - Oshane Nugent reached a significant milestone by winning his 100th race at Caymanas Park.

He achieved this feat aboard Tequila Flight, a four-year-old grey filly trained by Steven Todd, in a maiden condition event for native-bred four-year-olds and upward over 7 furlongs.

Tequila Flight crossed the finish line 14 ¼ lengths ahead of the competition with a winning time of 1:32.4.

I'm happy, and it's rejoicing. It's the result of hard work and dedication. Success only comes with hard work, and I'm all up for that,” he added.

Nugent expressed gratitude to his support network.

"I thank everyone – owners, trainers, fellow jockeys, grooms, racing fans, family, and friends. Without them, this wouldn't have been possible. I'm forever grateful,” the former two-time champion apprentice said.

Nugent's passion for horse racing began at a young age, and his career took off when he joined the racing fraternity as an apprentice jockey in 2019. His first career win was aboard Raw Liquid on February 8, 2020, which marked the beginning of a series of successes for him.

Nugent remains grateful for the support he has received and looks forward to continuing his successful career in horse racing.
