On Tuesday, December 26, 2023, new conditioner Michael Cain Jr earned his first win as a licensed trainer when Home Alone  triumphed in the fifth out of ten races.

Home Alone seized victory in a fierce maiden condition race, an intense contest for native-bred three-year-olds covering 7 ½ furlongs (1,500m).

Jockey Christopher Mamdeen expertly navigated Home Alone from the rear of the pack to a resounding 4 ½ length victory, leaving Princess Talise (Dane Dawkins) and Sweet Victory (Tevin Foster) in his wake. The race was completed in a time of 1:35.4 (23.4 x 47.2 x 1:13.3).

Cain Jr, alongside 38 other ambitious students, including one woman, graduated from the Jamaica Racing Commission's (JRC) rigorous Trainers Training programme in 2023. The graduation ceremony took place at the prestigious Caymanas Park Golf Club in St Catherine on Friday, May 12.

Cain Jr. conveyed his exhilaration in his post-race interview: "I feel extremely elated. It’s been a long journey since my graduation on May 12 and Home Alone's decisive win on Boxing Day (December 26, 2023). Now that I’ve made my mark, I anticipate even greater achievements in the future."
