KINGSTON, Jamaica – Six-time champion jockey Omar Walker was at his masterful best in bringing home the imported filly Harry’s Train in the third race on the Saturday programme at Caymanas Park.
Walker watched from second place as Kalahari (Reyan Lewis) set off with intent in the Restricted Allowance 111 event for four-year-olds non-winners of four (local bred) and imported non-winners of three run over nine furlongs and 25 yards.
Moving down the backstretch, Walker was as patient as ever as Lewis kept Kalahari in front.
Then after passing the four-furlong marker, Walker put Harry’s Train (3-2), trained by Ian Parsard in front and the filly responded by pulling further and further away for a four-length victory.
Azaria (Oshane Nugent) running on pipped Kalahari for second.
The winning time was 1:56.3.
