KINGSTON, Jamaica – Giving away lumps of weight all round, She’s A Maneater confirmed his class and her superiority to land the 7 ½ furlongs - Graded States event on offer in the fifth race at Caymanas not long ago.
She’s A Maneater with regular partner Omar Walker in the saddle was kept off the early fractions set by Houdini’s Magic (Raddesh Roman – 7/1) along with Another Bullet (Christopher Mamdeen – 5-1).
Another Bullet leaving the half-mile turn then started to challenge with She’s A Maneater moving closer and closer to the leading pair.
The two (She’s A Maneater and Another Bullet) were about level entering the straight and from then quite a battle ensued as the plucky and game Another Bullet fought to the end but She’s A Maneater pulled away inside the last half-a-furlong to win by 1 ¼ lengths. Third went to Houdini’s Magic while the anticipated late kick of Bigdaddykool (fourth) did not materialise.
On a hot and breezy afternoon, She’s A Maneater clocked a rather fast 1:31.3 with splits of 24.1 x 47.1 x 1:10.4.
This was She’s a Maneater’s fourth win from five starts this year.
