KINGSTON, Jamaica – Racing for the first time, Sweetyman by Soldat out of Tracking, by his jockey Nicholas Hibbert keeping a straight course made a winning debut in the Caymanas Saturday fourth.

Trained by Oneil “Sweety Man” Markland, Sweetyman achieved that first victory in a maiden condition event at five furlongs straight.

Draw at three in this run down the straight course, Hibbert did not veer to the outside. Instead, Hibbert kept Sweetyman as straight as he could as his main danger Morse Code (Romario Spencer) moved from the number four draw more to the outside.

Sweetyman galloping well for a debutante went on to win by a nose in a driving finish to the line.

Morse Code was second and Carol Strike (Raddesh Roman) finished third.
