Magic Bullet Finally A Winner

KINGSTON, Jamaica - Five-year-old bay mare Magic Bullet, who finished second over the straight (1,000m) course on June 10, returned and made no mistake in a native-bred five-year-olds and upwards (non-winners of two) and imported five-year-olds and upwards (maidens) over 6 furlongs (1,200m).
It wasn’t the best of start for the Ryan Williams-trained Magic Bullet, who broke off at the back of the field under Roger Hewitt as Lion Talk (Youville Pinnock), Bigmanbiden (Richard Cole), and Another Champion (Dane Dawkins) blazed the early trail.
Magic Bullet continued to race among the back markers, navigating the half-mile turn, but the Silver Medallion offspring produced a strong run in deep stretch to beat rivals by a length and a quarter at the line.
Another Champion held onto second place, with Legal Opportunity (Sadiki Blake) getting third place. The final time for the race was recorded at 1:19.2 (24.1 x 50.1).
