Lydia Anglin continues her rise in the world of Jamaican horse racing, a realm where women have traditionally played second fiddle. Anglin claimed  third victory of the current season on Saturday of February 17, 2024, marking her fourth career triumph in emphatic fashion.

The win unfolded as Edina Marsh surged to victory in the fifth race—a maiden condition sprint for native-bred five-year-olds and older, spanning 6 furlongs (1,200m).

Under the skilled navigation of jockey Tevin Foster, Edina Marsh executed a flawless start, seizing the lead over contenders Esuse Goodby (ridden by Devon A Thomas) and Sir Ganga Jamuna (with Romario Spencer aboard).

As the race unfolded, Foster, with tactical acumen, allowed Edina Marsh to briefly cede the lead to Esuse Me Goodby, conserving energy for the crucial final stretch. When the moment was ripe, Foster urged Edina Marsh back into the fray, and the bay mare responded with vigour, reclaiming her position at the head of the pack and thundering down the lane to secure a staggering 6 ½-length triumph over Sir Ganga Jamuna and Crafty Zella Zeen. Their final time was clocked at 1:19.0 (24.2 x 49.4).

With this win, Anglin proudly joins the ranks of Kibbeisha Little and Keisha Lawrence, each with four wins to their names, on the all-time female trainers' leaderboard. This illustrious list is topped by the legendary Eileen Cliggott, with an unparalleled 976 wins, followed by trailblazers Emma Chen (114 wins), Margaret Parchment (49 wins), Gloria Castillo (19 wins), Pauline Dwyer (12 wins), and Beverly Rhoden (12 wins). Anglin's name is now etched among these formidable women, as she continues to redefine the narrative of female achievement in the sport.
