KINGSTON, Jamaica – The second event on Saturday, August 26, 2023, is the second occasion that the two-year-olds will be racing this racing season.

Five juveniles will be facing the starter, three for the first time.

The Quick Galloper’s assessment of the three-furlong contest is provided below.

1 - SHEER DE JOUR is a bay filly (March 31) by Force De Jour out of Sheer Madness with Oneil Mullings in the saddle. Note, Sheer De Jour was nominated to race on August 1 but was declared as a late non-starter, injured. This filly has not shown anything substantial in recent visits to the track in the mornings.

2 - ROCK-OLA is a chestnut colt (April 3) by Bold Conquest out of Kitty Hawk, trained by Michael Marlowe with Dane Dawkins aboard. Coming along and will differently learn from this first experience.

3 – LUCY IN THE SKY is a bay filly (March 23) by Liquidity out of Tap A Bay Yankee, trained by Jason DaCosta with Reyan Lewis aboard. Finished 11 lengths behind Banadura and Blue Sensation in her first competitive effort. Morning reports indicate that Lucy In The Sky has been making noticeable progress, which will give her the nod in this one. Plus, the previous experience will certainly aid her cause.

4 - INDESTRUCTIBLE is a bay colt (January 25) by Successful Native out of Rudy Girl, trained by Phillip Elliott with Raddesh Roman in the saddle. Coming along, not ready as yet.

5 – HIMAYA is a roan filly (March 23) by Casual Trick out of Raksha, trained by Jason DaCosta with Phillip Parchment aboard. Note, Himaya races with the blinkers on. Finished way behind in fourth place when she made her debut on August 1. The best option is for the exacta.
