KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jockey Dane Nelson was at his punishing best atop the Fernando Geddes trained Lightning McQueen who he pushed to a three-parts-of a length victory in the second of nine races at Caymanas Park just moments ago.

Formal Gladiator (Paul Francis) set the early fractions with Lightning McQueen close by.

Francis took Formal Gladiator in the lead when they entered the straight but Lightning McQueen drew alongside and a fierce battle then developed with both jocks digging deep.

With half-a-furlong to go Francis lost his whip and this allowed Nelson to push Lightning McQueen to the winning post in front.

Formal Gladiator was second with Garrincha (Aaron Chatrie) third.

This was Lightning McQueen’s fifth entry into the winners’ circle from 11 career starts.
