KINGSTON, Jamaica – The seventh race on Saturday, January 6, 2024, is a three and four-year-old non-winners of three, and also for imported horses, three-year-old and up, non-winners of three.
Six horses face the starter, in this 5 ½ furlong contest.
The Quick Galloper’s assessment is provided below in order of the draw.
1 – ACKNOWLEDGEME is a non-winner of three, racing mainly against non-winners of four. Despite her vast experience, 25 career starts, Acknowledgeme will find it difficult against these, based mainly on poor recent form.
2 – MILOS although already winning three races, his last race on December 17, 2023, was in a claiming call. Then he was well beaten by Curlin’s Affair. Milos will have to step big time to win this one.
3 – LEGIT BOSS after a long absence returned to the winners’ enclosure on December 9 at the same distance as today’s event. On that occasion, Legit Boss went to the lead and fought hard in the straight to win by 1 ¼ lengths. Legit Boss is in prime form at the moment and will be hard to deny.
4 – MONEY MARKET aims for three straight wins following success on December 23 going 6 furlongs. In what many considered to be a career-defining run, Money Market beat Huntsman by six lengths in a final time of 1:12.1. This lightly raced colt (six starts) has ability, but his rare race track appearances suggest he has injury issues. If Money Market is fit and proper, he has a good chance of winning, despite moving up in the scales.
5 – VOLATILITY enters this contest on the back of a win down the five straight course. Will have to wait to win in this class.
6 – GEOLITHIC was nominated to race on December 30 but was listed as injured. In his four starts to date, this foreigner has mainly raced over distances longer than 5 ½ furlongs. Now, he is engaged in an out-and-out sprint, which might be his undoing. Yet, Geolithic cannot be denied a chance of winning this one. Note, Geolithic races with the tongue tie off.
