Gets up on I’ve Got Magic to nip Regnant
KINGSTON, Jamaica – With memories of old still filtering in his DNA, veteran jockey Everton “Killa” Miller produced the ride of the day when he brought the Philip Feanny trained, I’ve Got Magic with a late burst to nip Regnant (Omar Walker) in the Caymanas Saturday eighth.
The I’ve Got Magic, Miller and Feanny combination tasted success in a four-year-old and upwards (non-winners of two) event travelling 5 ½ furlongs.
When the gates opened it was Regnant (Omar Walker), returning from a long break, who used his speed to set the splits with Miller and I’ve Got Magic at the back of the field.
Regnant galloping well took rivals into the lane for the final two furlongs and looked all set to register a long awaited second win but out of the clouds on the outside emerged Miller and I’ve Got Magic to inflict defeat by a short head. Third went to T Brady (Chris Mamdeen).
This was the second winner on the day for owner Lakeland Farms.
