The Jamaica Racing Commission wishes to advise the public that the horse ALWAYS WRIGHT, who was third past the winning post in race #1 on Saturday January 17, 2026, failed to complete the race with the declared equipment (Cheek Piece).
A horse that fails to complete the race with the declared equipment must be disqualified. This is in accordance to Rule 113 (9) which reads as follows:
Rule 113 9(c)(i) when a horse has been declared to run in blinkers, one cup blinkers, visor, one cup eye shield, hood, goggles, figure eight, cheek pieces, a hood fitted with blinkers or any combination of the above, the item of equipment shall be worn during the post parade and on the way to the start and if the horse does not wear such equipment it shall not run.
- save as otherwise provided in paragraph (iii) of this Rule where a horse fails to finish the race with any item of equipment in which it was declared, it shall be disqualified from the race.
As stipulated by the provision of the rules, the horse ALWAYS WRIGHT is disqualified.
