Wins Caymanas Sunday 8th for trainer Colin Ferguson
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jockey Samantha Fletcher continued her progress in the saddle when she won her second race on the day aboard Jon P in the Caymanas Saturday eighth – a five-year-old and upwards (non-winners of three) event going five furlongs round.
Fletcher who has lately taken a likeness for going in front did not waste any time in getting Jon P to the lead followed closely by Step In Faith (Robert Halledeen). The two were together for the first two furlongs after which Jon P accelerated, thereby increasing his lead to two lengths.
Turning for home, Fletcher kept Jon P on the inside while Step In Faith went wide. It was then left to Lord of Ajahlon (Christopher Mamdeen) to pose a threat but while making some gain, Jon P held on to win by three parts of a length. Step In Faith was third.
Jon P was Fletcher’s second winner on the day.
