KINGSTON, Jamaica - Another Jamaican jockey, Odeen Edwards recently moved his tack to Canada following in the footsteps of compatriots Dane Nelson, Dane Dawkins, Javaniel Patterson, Linton Steadman, Trevor Simpson, among many others.
In an exclusive interview with this website, Edwards revealed that he is now based at the Rocky Mountain race track in Alberta.
“I recently made the move to Canada.
“Thus far, I have settled in fairly well. What I can tell you is that it is very cold, but I am doing what I am supposed to do.
“Despite the new environment, plus the cold, it snows often, I am still getting into the saddle, as the racing year where I now am, doesn’t get started until sometime in May,” Edwards shared with Quickgallopja.com.
Edwards added: “This is a major move for me, so I am doing all what it takes to get the job done. This is a new chapter in my professional life, and I am more than prepared to do the hard work.”
