KINGSTON, Jamaica – In the thrilling final furlong of the first of ten races on Saturday, August 5, 2023, there was little to choose between eventual winner Vanquisher, Gone A Negril, and Buff Bay.
Ultimately, it was Vanquisher, ridden by Matthew Bennett and trained by Marlon Brown, who claimed victory by a short head. Buff Bay finished second and Gone A Negril came in third.
