KINGSTON, Jamaica – Showing noticeable speed on his debut, two-year chestnut colt Jaguar (Berlino Di Tiger – Bubbling Angeline) had things his own merry way in the Caymanas Sunday second with his jockey Oneil Mullings having little to do in the saddle.
Jaguar’s first success came in the Starters’ Trophy, a two-year-old maiden special weight contest coming down the four-furlong straight chute.
The nine ‘babies’ in the Starters’ Trophy went into their respective starting barriers without any fuss, but as soon as the gates opened it was all Jaguar, who raced unperturbed throughout.
Jaguar, trained by Philip Feanny, completed the distance in 47.1 second and was 4 ¾ lengths ahead of Nomoredeals (Ruja  Lahoe) with Berning Red finishing third.
