Makes one move at 7 ½ furlongs

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Racing for the second time in Overnight Allowance (7 ½ furlongs) on Saturday, March 12, 2022, the Philip Feanny trained, Tevin Foster ridden, I’ve Got Magic, made good use of being the lone speed in this contest of six starters following the late withdrawal of Kay Boy.
With Crimson (Dane Nelson) starting as the odds-on 3-5 favourite, Foster promptly sent I’ve Got Magic to the front and after the first furlong, it was clear that this foreigner was enjoying himself on the front end.
Racing down the backstretch, and while taking the turn, Foster was easy on I’ve Got Magic, while no challengers pressing on the headlines.
In the last two furlongs, I’ve Got Magic cut a lonely figure moving further and further away to win by an expanding 12 ½ lengths. Crimson finished second, with Atlantic Blue (Kiaman McGregor) third. The winning time was 1:32.2, with splits of 24.0 x 47.3 x 1:12.3.
The win was the fourth from nine starts for I’ve Got Magic.
