KINGSTON, Jamaica – Listed as the ninth on the Overnight program, which is subject to change on the final program, is a non-three for locally bred horses and a non-four for three and four-year-olds bred overseas going the sprint trip of 5 ½ furlongs.
Six horses are entered in this event to be contested on Saturday, March 4, 2023, with The Quick Galloper analysis provided below.
1 – PIP is a four-year-old bay colt by Perfect Curlin out of Noon It Is trained by Anthony Nunes with jockey Tevin Foster holding a number four paper. Simply making up numbers.
2 – TALONA is a four-year-old dark bay filly (USA) by Bayern out of To My Delight trained by Philip Feanny with Oneil Mullings aboard. Faded after being prominent on February 18, at 6 ½ furlongs. Talona is battle proven with 13 starts under her belt, and with this race reduced by a furlong, she has every chance of winning.
3 – LEGIT BOSS is a three-year-old bay filly (February 20) trained by Anthony Nunes with Tevin Foster. The champion two-year-old filly of 2020, makes her seasonal entry in what is a tough encounter. There is no doubt that Legit Boss is made of special cloth with two wins from five starts in her career thus far. This is the beginning of the Classic trail for Legit Boss, who will be the deciding factor in this one.
4 – G T BOY is a four-year-old dark bay gelding by Here Comes Ben out of Rejected Slew trained by Anthony Nunes with Tevin Foster holding a number two paper. Just filling a barrier.
5 – AWESOME ANTHONY is a three-year-old chestnut colt (March 27) by Soul Warrior out of Antoinette with Anthony Thomas aboard. Awesome Anthony was trashed by Legit Boss in their only meeting (November 22, 2022). Since then, Awesome Anthony was pulled up on January 29, 2023. He returned on February 4, to win coming down the five straight course. If Awesome Anthony enters the track on Saturday in good nick, he could overturn that defeat at the hoofs of Legit Boss.
6 – ANCHORMAN is a four-year-old bay colt by Soul Warrior out of Bitter End trained by Anthony Nunes with Anthony Thomas holding a number two paper. Out of place.
