Silent Mission - Dick Cardenas

KINGSTON, Jamaica – With the two-year-olds running on the round course for the first time, Silent Mission won her first race from her second start in the Caymanas Saturday second.

Dick Cardenas on board Silent Mission for trainer Jason DaCosta, therefore earned his second win on the day from the first two races.

Silent Mission by Savoy Stomp _ Lady Mandi, broke well in the two-year-old maiden event at five furlongs round but was quickly overtaken by Princess Alani (Matthew Bennett).

Princess Alani (Bern Identity – Gentle Officer) set fast splits for two-year-olds (23.3 47.3) as Cardenas waited on his mount.

It was Princess Alani galloping resolutely in front when they entered the straight. Cardenas had to dig deep to get Silent Mission into his best stride and once he overtook Princess Alani at the furlong pole, pulled away to win by four lengths in a time of 1:01.0.

Princess Alani was second and Deezi (Anthony Thomas) third.

The win by Silent Mission gave first crop sire Savoy Stomp his first progeny win.
