The second session of the Keeneland September Yearling Sale on Sept. 12 quickly set a new top price when Terry Finley made a final bid of $3 million for an Into Mischief colt.

The partnership consists of Chuck Sonson, Woodford Racing, and West Point Thoroughbreds, with L.E.B. as their agent. Lane's End consigned the Kentucky-bred bay, represented as Hip 261 and produced by Repole Stable.

The colt comes from Frizette Stakes (G1) placed mare Nonna Mia, mother of Wood Memorial Stakes (G1) winner Outwork and stakes-placed Nonna's Boy. Under the second dam, Holy Bubbette, lies her Pioneerof the Nile son Cairo Prince, a successful sire and multiple grade 2 winner.

Ryan expressed his excitement for the top players interested in such a promising stallion prospect. He also praised Repole for entrusting them with this high-quality mare. Raising a horse and bringing it to auction is thoroughly rewarding for everyone involved.

Finley and Sonson watched the sale in person inside the pavilion. Finley commended the colt's beauty and expressed enthusiasm about their new group of partners. Their shared goal is to make it to the Derby in 2025.

On Day 1, the group acquired two yearlings: a $325,000 Gun Runner filly and a $1.35M Uncle Mo colt out of Diva Delite, dam of champion Midnight Bisou. On Tuesday, they added a Candy Ride colt and a Quality Road colt to their roster, each costing $800,000, before purchasing the session leader.
