KINGSTON, Jamaica - The Quick Galloper has compiled a list of interesting facts following the running of the 98th 10-furlong three-year-old Jamaica St Leger.

ONE

The winner of the 2024 St Leger was Intrestntimesahead, trained by Jason DaCosta and ridden by Tevin Foster. Intrestntimesahead is bred by Bold Conquest out of My Friend Lucy. This marked the first Classic win for the stallion, Bold Conquest.

TWO

For trainer Jason DaCosta, this victory was his sixth Classic win. DaCosta's previous Classic successes include Miniature Man (2000 Guineas), Mamma Mia (1000 Guineas), Mamma Mia (Jamaica Oaks), Thalita (St Leger), California Crown (2000 Guineas), and Intrestntimesahead (St Leger). To complete the Triple Crown series (1000 or 2000 Guineas, the St Leger, and the Jamaica Derby), DaCosta needs a win in the Derby.

THREE

Intrestntimesahead's victory provided leading rider Tevin Foster with his first Classic event win. Before this, Foster had finished second in the 2024 - 2000 Guineas (with Intrestntimesahead) and second in the 2023 St Leger (with Money Miser).

FOUR

The winner of the 2023 St Leger, Thalita, won her first race since her Classic win on the 2024 St Leger race day.

FIVE

With Run Julie Run winning the 1000 Guineas, California Crown the 2000 Guineas, and Intrestntimesahead the St Leger, there will be no Triple Crown winner in 2024.

      1. Maybe the longer races do not attract a lot of entries. Too many 5 straight races, these attract reasonable amount. Could be too many horses with issues and they can't really perform credible after the first quarter.
