KINGSTON, Jamaica – Trainer Michael Marlowe and jockey Dick Cardenas continued their recently established winning partnership when In The Blood at odds of 6-1 ran out a fighting victor in the Caymanas Saturday sixth.
In The Blood raced prominently as the leaders El Gringo (Chris Mamdeen) and Mamasharondarling (Trevor Simpson) changed turns on the front end. Milkman (Anthony Thomas) moved steadily along the inside rails.
With three furlongs to go, Cardenas decided it was time as he asked In The Blood to lengthen stride on the outside.
The three horses Mamasharondarling, El Gringo and In The Blood entered the straight locked together with Milkman alone on the inside rails.
In a grand tussle involving In The Blood and Milkman it was the former who found more to win by 1 ¼ lengths. Third was El Gringo.
